Kenneth Portera & Associates LLC
I have been preparing taxes for over 35 years and the founder and owner/operator of Kenneth Portera & Associates LLC, a year-round tax preparation and accounting practice I launched in 2009. My firm provides tax controversy representation, tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, non-profits and gift tax filings. Prior to forming my business, I held positions of CEO, CFO, Treasurer, and Controller for several global financial service companies.
My education consists of a undergraduate degree in accounting from Pace University and specialized graduate courses at the New School.
I taught as an adjunct for 13 years in the New York City University system as part of their accounting and finance department.
I hold an Enrolled Agent license and a Accredited Tax Professional designation. I served on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) and was a past director of the New Jersey Society of Enrolled Agents (NJSEA) where I'm active in the organization. I also serve on the education committee of the National Society of Enrolled Agents and speak both local and nationwide for various tax organizations.
